I used to have a love hate relationship with scales. I was one of those people that allowed the number on the scale determine my mood and my sense of self worth.
Fortunately over the last few years, I’ve been able to see the scale for what it really is. A tool. Not a friend or enemy, not evil torture device designed to sabotage my self worth, but a TOOL! A tool to collect data to analyze to see trends in your body composition. Now, doesn’t that sound a lot better? I’ve learned to take the information I can gather from the scale and look at it objectively to make decisions that will get me closer to my goal. Now, keep in mind that no scale is 100% accurate, but if used consistently, the data obtained, regardless of the actual numbers WILL provide you with usable data.

I’ve had a couple of EatSmart scales but this is by far my favorite and here’s why:

The EatSmart Precision Body Check does so much more than a typical bathroom scale. It measures weight, and estimates body fat, body water, body muscle, BMI, bone mass, and daily caloric intake using BIA electrode technology. Simply step on the scale and in seconds you’ll see your 7 key health metrics.

  1. Large, 3.7″ Backlit LCD display
  2. “Step-On” technology – no more tapping to turn on your scale
  3. Auto-recognition software stores up to 8 unique user profiles and recognizes the individual users
  4. When a weight locks in, the scale beeps, giving the user time to step off and view their 7 health metrics
  5. An athlete mode for very active users
  6. 4 high-precision sensors ensure consistent and accurate measurements
  7. 3 measurement modes: Pounds / Kilos / Stones
  8. 2 graduation increments: 0.2 lb / 0.1 kg
  9. Ultra thin, sleek design with high quality tempered glass platform
  10. Max Weight: 400 lbs / 180 kgs
  11. Auto calibrated and includes 3 AAA batteries

I think one of the coolest features about this scale is that it will give you a caloric estimate based on your input at set up. I won’t lie, I scoffed at the numbers it gave me at first until I went back and calculated my calorie needs with the Harris Benedict formula. (You can find the calculators here) I’m not kidding when I tell you that the EatSmart scale was within 100 calories of my calculations. Everything that I can see, tells me that this scale is pretty darn accurate and I’m excited to continue using it not only as I continue to work on reducing body fat, but to chart muscle growth and GAINZ when I start lifting again.

If you’re a scale person, this really is a great one to get! If you’re not a scale person, you might want to get one anyway just for the sole purpose of collecting data 🙂 You can find them HERE

I’m really excited to tell you that EatSmart is going to give one of my lucky readers a
