The Weekly Chase July 12, 2016

Damn, it’s really been nearly 5 months since I’ve done one of these?!?! Holy crap, that’s ridiculous. No wonder I don’t feel like I’m reaching my goals….I HAVEN’T FREAKING MADE ANY!!!

I won’t bore you with all the blah blah blah my life is so overwhelming garbage. I’ve let other things take priority over my goals and quite simply, that shit’s gotta stop. I always do better in all aspects of my life when I set smaller manageable goals with a short time frame in conjunction with my big ass lofty goals.

Since it’s been a minute since I’ve set any weekly goals, lets take a minute to review what the big goals are and how I can break those bad boys down into reasonable steps.
First and foremost, my goal of running 2016 miles this year. I’m not even going to bullshit you, even Runkeeper thinks I’m going to fail…Runkeeper 2016 in 2016

No, Runkeeper I’m NOT going to adjust my goal. I may be behind, but I’ve learned something valuable this year. I’m reminded of it daily even though at times I neglect to acknowledge the power in these words I wear so often across my back:

I need to run an average of 70 miles a week to make this goal a reality. Time to put the excuses away and make shit happen. 10 miles. EVERY DAMN DAY. Whether is a treadmill run or a ruck, I need miles under my feet. It is within reach if only I grab hold of the opportunities I am given.

Goal two: Drink all the water. It’s freaking hot in Texas and athletes can’t afford to be dehydrated. 1+ gallon a day. I will carry my 52 ounce cup with me at all times. If I can empty it 3 times, I’ll be ahead of goal which will give me more energy, I’ll look and feel better and it’ll make plasma donation faster and easier!

Goal three: Complete contributor post for the Not Now Mom’s Busy Blog

That’s it. I’m keeping it simple this week. Slow and steady.

What goals are you chasing this week? Do you ever feel like you’re destined to fail? Does it make you want to throw in the towel, or dig in and push harder?
What do you do when life gets overwhelming and you feel like you’re not getting anything accomplished? I want to know how you manage your goals and responsibilities-
