I’ve been staring at this blank screen for literally 2 hours. I have been presented with an opportunity to share my love of food and cooking with little P in a BIG WAY!
Macy’s Culinary council is hosting a Halloween cooking class at Memorial City Mall with the one and only Chef Stephanie Izard! If you haven’t heard of her, well, then I just don’t know if we can be friends.
Chef Stephanie made culinary waves as the first and ONLY female winner of the Bravo series Top Chef. She’s battled Iron Chef Michael Symon, her crazy creative pork and ice cream combo of Bourbon Apples, Cranberry, Miso Marcona Almond, Maple Fat Gelato from her restaraunt Girl & the Goat have been featured on The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Chef Izard also has a second restaurant- The Little Goat. She is a culinary superstar and just so happens to have earned herself a James Beard award and the title of “Best Chef” from Food and Wine, nbd.
Just the idea of having my kids cooking alongside not only a James Beard Award winning chef, but a WOMAN who kicked butt in an intense culinary competition and came out on top….OMG!!!! I am beside myself with excitement!
I’ve always tried to teach my kids that they are capable of anything they put their mind to regardless of what anyone else thinks, what they may say or what role society thinks they should fit into. Couple that with my love of food and this is an absolute dream come true! Chef Izard is truly someone I can feel good about my kids looking up to.
Anyone who really knows me will tell you that full bellies make me happier than almost anything on the planet. I guess you could say that feeding my friends and family is my love language. It just does something for my soul to know that I can nourish those that I love both with the food I prepare and serve them and with the love that goes into that food. I am thrilled that I will be able to take home my very own autographed copy of Chef Izard’s book Girl in the Kitchen, so that I can add even more amazing dishes to my culinary arsenal!
This may well be a once in a lifetime opportunity to have your kids working side by side with one of the premier chefs in the industry and I sincerely hope that you will take advantage of this event happening right in our own backyard.
